Heartfelt Creations_Thank You

It's Wednesday which means it's Heartfelt Creations Inspiration time again!
But before I share my card, I would like to apologize for not posting more these days or visiting all my wonderful friends.  I didn't realize how much I would miss my blog world!  Sometimes life takes some twists and turns that we weren't expecting.  As I shared before, my friend has been diagnosed with colon cancer.  She has no close family and doesn't drive so I am the one she depends on for all her transportation.  The trips to the hospital and nursing home have been 1 hour each way so we spend a lot of time on the road.  Today we will see the doctor to schedule her radiation.  Next week they will insert the port to start the chemo.  Please pray with us that she won't get terribly sick from all the treatments.
My heart goes out to everyone who has to deal with a major illness.  I wish I could reach out and give each of you a hug!

For my card today, I used the gorgeous tea cup from the 'Old English Garden" collection.  I stamped the smallest and medium size tea cups on shrink plastic and then colored them with markers.  After shrinking them I hung them from a heart clip which I slipped  through the seam binding.   The sentiment is from the new collection.  Love the font on this one!  Below you will find all the detailed instructions on how I made this card.

A Mother's Heart

This is a card I made for my Heartfelt Creations DT submission but then it became a sentimental project and I couldn't bear to part with it.  This is a paperbag gift/card.  The paperbag is folded in half and creates a pocket for a small gift.

The focus of the front is the door which is a Heartfelt Creations stamp, HCPC 3440-Vintage Door PreCut Set.  I stamped it on DP in Fired Brick Distress Ink, cut it out, and then used the MS studded heart punch to cut out the middle.  I added some acetate on the back to support the swirl bling and then added a rhinestone heart on the door handle.  I printed out the sentiment and added it with pop dots.

I stamped HCPC 3304 Posy Patch Swirls PreCut Set on the DP and embossed in gold.  The DP is some Anna Griffin paper that I've been hoarding, it's almost gone (sigh).

The flap of the bag creates a pocket for a tag.
The pocket will hold a small gift, I added a page with pictures.

We have 3 boys ( the baby is now 45!)  One thing I wish I would have done different is add an older picture of the baby, he is actually the oldest of the boys.  I want to add some handwritten journaling.  ( my spell checker says I spelled 'journaling' wrong so I checked the dictionary, it says there is no such word! Oh well, there is now,LOL!)
and 3 girls.  They are now all grown, some married and have 8 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild.  How time has flown!
 The back.
Somehow, this has become a gift for me.  My mother was born May 22, 1921 and passed away in April 1968.  So many happy memories!

A Friend Like You

Today I have a card that uses no DP which is easy to do when I use one of my favorite embossing folders which is the Sizzix wreath.  I painted the leaves with Creative Inspirations Paint 'Silver Frost'.  Gorgeous!  The image is from the Friendship set at Our Daily Bread Designs.  I used some stickles and a cream Pearl Pen.  The sentiment is from Heartfelt Creations HCPC 3363 Inspire Me Sentiments PreCut Set.

Recently I discovered a new blog by Shirley and she has an awesome accordian folded butterfly.  You can find her here.  Thank you so much, Shirley, I love making these.

Thanks so much for visiting and have a blessed day!
