Tag In A Box

I found a wonderful tutorial on how to make a tag in a box.  The DP is from Anna Griffin.  The large flower is handmade and the smaller ones are Recollections and some I received from a friend.  They are painted with CI Paints.

The smaller red ones are painted with a RoseQuartz and Antique Copper mixture.  The white ones were painted with Winter Frost.  The large flower was sprayed with Lindys Stamp Gang "Rudolph's Nose Red and has a pearl in the center.

There's some pretty lace and lots of bling,

The tag pocket is attached to the box with a brad.

I used a MS heart punch for the top of the tag. These are very easy to make, hope you try one.

Thanks for visiting and have a blessed day!

Inspired by: Rainbows_Darlene's Blog Candy

This week at Creative Inspirations Paint we are being inspired by rainbows.  For this card, I used a tutorial called 'Glossy Paper' by Kassi at CIP to create the shimmery rainbow border.

I used a 2" piece of glossy cardstock for each color and then used an MS punch.  I stamped the butterflies on the same paper and now I have some gloriously shimmery butterflies that don't need anything else but some bling for their bodies.

The stamped sentiment is an old stamp from Stampendious.  I added some faux stitching around the die cut.  There are 2 ribbons; one with some stitching and a yellow satin.  I used the swiss dots embossing folder on the background.

Happy Easter!

He is Risen!
Matthew 28:1-8
The first day of the week, Mary Magdalene and Mary came to look at the grave.
And behold, a severe earthquake had occured, for an angel of the Lord descended from heaven and came and rolled away the stone and sat upon it.
And his appearance was like lightning, and his clothing as white as snow.
And the angel said to the women, "Do not be afraid; for I know that you are looking for Jesus who has been cruicified.
He is not here, for He has risen, just as He said, Come, see the place where He was lying".
And they left the tomb quickly with fear and great joy and ran to report it to the disciples.

John 3:16
For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotton Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life.

Isaiah 53: 5-6
He was pierced through for our transgressions,
He was crushed for our iniquities,
The chastening for our well-being fell upon Him,
And by His scourging we are healed.
All of us like sheep have gone astray,
Each of us has turned to his own way;
But the Lord has caused the iniquity of us all,
To fall on Him.

Hebrews 12:2
Jesus, the author and perfecter of faith, who for the joy set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.

Romans 8:34:35
Christ Jesus is He who died, yes, rather who was raised, who is at the right hand of God, who also intercedes for us.
Who will separate us from the love of Christ?
Will tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril or sword?......

Romans 8:37-39
But in all these things we overwhelmingly conquer through Him who loved us.
For I am convinced that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor things present, nor things to come, nor powers,
nor height, nor depth, nor any other created thing, will be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Egg-cellent Place Card Holders

CI Paints Inspired by: EGGS
I've been working on my Easter table decor and so today I'm sharing my place card holders.

The styrofoam eggs have been painted with acrylic paint.  They have the texture of  those beautiful sugar eggs that used to be so popular.  I stamped "For God So Loved The World" on tissue paper and added it to the egg.  For the flowers I punched out 3 layers for each flower, painted them with CI Paints "Green Olive, Rose Quartz, Sea Foam, Sunshine, and then added some bling in the center.  The eggs are sitting on a bottle cap with a ring of beads on pipe cleaners.  I think I have just found a new favorite color. Sea Foam is amazing!  I need to create a project just for that color!

I have to thank my husband for creating the pins for me.  He glued the swirl clips to the corsage pins.

I used a Spellbinders die to cut out the cards and then painted the edges with the same paints as the flowers. These were a lot of fun to create and so simple.  Join us at Creative Inspirations Paint and you could win some "Sea Foam"!  Or any color you want.

Thanks for visiting and have a blessed day!

Pop Can Butterfly

I asked my family to save their soda cans for me to use in some of my crafts.  This butterfly is the first of my attempts.  I colored it with some Adirondak alcohol inks and then cut it out with my Cuttlebug and a Spellbinder butterfly die.  I really like how it turned out and will be experimenting with some flowers later.

The sentiment is a rubber stamp that I bought locally and there is no identifying info on it. It's cut out with a Spellbinders die. The Pile It On challenge is to use rubber stamps which I don't do very often since I've started using digital.

Saturday we attended a CKC Convention and Oh. My. Goodness!  It is such a good thing that I don't attend them very often!  Spending mode was in high gear and my husband, who is usually my check, turned out to be an enabler.  One of my favorite companies is Heartfelt Creations and the swirls you see are from them.  It was just one of the things I  knew I "needed" before I left the house, LOL!  I stamped some extra flowers on the DP, embossed, cut out and then added some gems for bling.

A MS punch, some ribbon and lace and a spritz of Lindys Stamp Gang gold finish the card.

Thanks for visiting and have a blessed day!

Eggs at CI Paints

Today we have a fun challenge at Creative Inspirations Paint.  It's all about the eggs!

Isn't this the cutest little egg person!  "Paint Me Pretty Chick"  comes from Heather at Fresh Brewed Designs.  I colored her with Prismacolor pencils and then used Creative Inspirations Paint "Green Olive, Sunshine, and Rose Quartz" to give some wonderful shimmer.  I almost always use Glaze Medium with my paints.  When I was finished painting my image I had a little bit of paint left so I turned my brush around and dipped the end in the paint and painted dots on the background.

I used an MS border punch on the pink layer and added a yellow ribbon.  I wish I were a better photographer; this card is much prettier IRL.

The background was sponged with some yellow Studio G chalk ink and then I added some stitching and gems.  I designed the sentiment in PSE, printed it, and colored it with my pencils.

I totally love this flower!  It's one of those felt flowers which I will be making myself when I have a little more time.

Be sure to join us at CIP for a chance to win some of these wonderful shimmery paints for yourself!

Thanks for visiting and have a blessed day!

Fancy Fold Card

Today I thought I would do a "just for fun card".  This is called a teepee card and I found the tutorial for it here.

This adorable image is from sliekjestamps and is colored with Prismacolor pencils.  I sewed on some lace and added some ribbon and a butterfly.  The flower is Prima and the center is one of my crepe paper flowers.  They are painted with Creative Inspirations Paint "Winter Frost" and some pink glitter.  Winter Frost  is one of my favorite colors; it adds such a gorgeous shimmer!

I used some cupcake liners for the ruffle under the Spellbinders diecut.  The image is a free clipart and colored with Prismacolor pencils and then the strawberries and bottom of glass are painted with CIP "Rose Quartz and Green Olive.  The glass and cherry are given a coat of Glossy Accents.

The scallop was painted with CIP "Rose Quartz" with glaze medium and water added.

The card has a velcro closure so it can be folded flat for mailing.
Would someone please verify if I have word verification turned off?  I thought I had it turned off before and then someone left a comment saying it was on.  Hope I have it fixed.  Thanks

Thanks for visiting and have a blessed day!

Treasured Memories

This week the challenge at Sentimental Sundays is Treasured Memories.  When I saw their free sentiment it made me think of my mother so I made this card in memory of her.  I want to make a shadow box frame for this and display it in my guest room.

I used papers from K&Company "Life's Journey".  The papers have been distressed with my trusty little sissors and then I used tea dye distress ink.  The flowers are handmade.  The large flower is colored with Lindy's Stamp Gang "Rudolph's Nose Red" and "Medieval Gold" and has some Crystal Stickles added.  The small flower is made from the DP and also has stickles added.  I designed the background for the quote in PSE and then used a Spellbinders die and added some faux stitching.

I tore the rose paper, punched some holes, and threaded with yarn and beads.  The panel is on pop dots over a post card DP.  I then finished it with some ribbon and lace.

As is so often the case, when you start remembering things from the past, one thought leads to another.  The post card made me think about the letters mother sent me when I was doing some volunteer work in another state.  The rose paper made me remember the gorgeous roses my mother grew.  Strangers would stop and comment about her roses.  I added the cross to remember her love for the Lord and her desire to always live a life pleasing to Him.

Thank you for visiting and have a blessed day!

Spring at Creative Inspirations Paint

This week our challenge at Creative Inspirations Paint is "SPRING".  I've never made a banner before so I thought I would make one for my craft room.

I used crepe paper to make the ruffle at the top and then sewed it and the rick rack onto the pennant.  The crepe paper and doily were painted with CIP "Fairy Dust".

The letters were painted with white acrylic paint and then painted with CIP "Winter Frost".  I then added some extra bling with Diamond Dust.

Those bright colors have certainly brought some cheer into my craft room which is sorely needed since we have had a week of dark, rainy days.

Thank you for visiting and have a blessed day!

Romantic Spring

I decided to try something new and different (at least, for me).  My house is seriously in need of some spring decorating and so I started with a shelf in the dining room.

I started with a yogurt container and some vintage sheet music.  I tore the sheet music into small pieces, distressed them with tea dye distress ink and then glued them onto the yogurt cup.  I then stamped a butterfly and a bird and embossed them with gold embossing.  I mixed some Creative Inspiration Paint, Blush+glazing medium+water, painted it over the embossing and then wiped it off. I then went over it with CIP, Winter Frost, leaving a beautiful shimmer.

I adhered them to some ribbon and lace.  For the first time ever I tried some quilling.  Don't look too close, I know they are very amateurish!  But they were a lot of fun so I think I will pursue this and try to become better.  The tiny flower under the butterfly is a rolled tissue paper flower.  The flowers have a coating of CIP, Winter Frost.

I made a handle with pipe cleaners and added some beads, pearls and ribbon.  Who knew pipe cleaners could be so glamorous!  Pink and green have always been my favorite colors.

I then added a little bird on her nest of eggs.  The two things I love most about spring are the flowers and hearing the birds singing.

Thank you so much for visiting and have a blessed day!

New Beginnings

Yesterday's mail brought some very anticipated mail.  The first was an awesome blog candy prize from Stampin' Mindy.  Thank you so much!!  I've been so thoroughly enjoying the Magnoli-licious magazine that I haven't even inked up the stamps yet.  But I will!

And then I received the paints from Creative Inspirations Paint!  I did have to dip my paintbrush into those immediately.

So much fun!  Right now I'm just playing, doing some very basic things, learning all about the paints.  Just a tiny amount of paint can yield such awesome shimmer!  I've been checking out all the tutorials that Kassi has posted (48 of them!);  they're going to keep me busy for a long time!

Isn't this such a sweet young lady?  She's from My Grafico, as is the tag, I just changed the words.  The flower is made from a cupcake liner.  See the shimmer on her apron and hat ribbon?  Oh, yes, she is supposed to have a basket of apples but I erased the stems and made them into eggs.  Don't they look like eggs?  I thought so, LOL.

O.K.  I've kept the best till last.  Creative Inspirations has asked me to be on their DT!  I am totally blown away;  the other ladies on the team are so way ahead of me!  I am in awe of their creations.

Thanks for visiting and have a blessed day!
