Warm and Cozy

Hi everyone, it is the last Tuesday of the month so today is the beginning of the Heartfelt Creations Alumni Design Team’s monthly Blog Hop.  If you'd like a chance at winning a prize, be sure to leave a comment on each blog along the hop by Friday - there is a $25 gift certificate up for grabs for one random commenter!  The blog hop will remain open for comments from 8am EST on Tues. Aug. 27th through Fri. Aug. 30th at midnight.

Recently, I saw a tutorial on how to do a sweater card which I thought would work beautifully with this Heartfelt Creations sentiment.  Plus, it gave me a reason to dig out my old crimper.  I started with the Frosty Blanket Paper Collection cut to 4 1/4" x 5 1/2".  The ribbing is 1/2" wide.  The pocket is attached to a regular card which gives lots of room inside for a message.  The flower 'pin' was cut from the paper.  I'll have to look for another embossing folder that looks more like a sweater texture;  this was all I had available today.

Most of the image was colored with stickles; after all, it's just not Christmas without glitter!  I also used a little bit of puff paint and colored pencils.

It's time for a new challenge at Digitally 'Sweet' Challenges.

Theme

For the last month I have been hard at work getting ready for our son and fiance's engagement party which will be this evening.  I am now officially operating in panic mode, LOL!  For some reason, I always try to do more than I can possible accomplish.  After the dust settles, I'll share a few of my projects.

So to save time, I decided to try doing a digital version of the spotlight technique with lots of fun, summery colors.  I hope you join us, we love to see your creative projects!

Have a relaxed and blessed day!

12 Things I Love About You

Oops!  I almost forgot today is Friday!  Time for a new challenge at Digitally 'Sweet' Challenges.

Theme
Numbers Galore

The kit I used is Template Dreams 'Peaceful'.  I used a few blending modes (in PSE5) which changed the color of the paper.  These were the original papers.  Using blending modes maintained the design of the paper but changed the colors.

Join us with your numbers projects; we love to see what you create!

Thanks for visiting and have a blessed day!

Christmas in...August

It's time for a new challenge at Digitally 'Sweet' Challenges and this week our theme is

LAYERS

sponsored by

Is it Christmas yet?  Do you realize it's only a little over 4 months away?!  Does that make you feel excited or a little depressed?  It just makes me wonder why time passes so much more quickly as I get older.

Whatever the case, I've designed a little tag with some adorable images from Cedar Chest Designs.  As I was doing my digital paper piecing and coloring in PSE, I ended up with 42 layers.  Yikes!  But you don't need to get quite that carried away (unless you want to), just an ordinary amount of layers will do.  We love to see all your wonderful creations and the chance to visit your blogs.

Thanks for visiting me today and have a blessed day!

So today I made this sweet baby card with DigiDarla's Baby Clothesline image.  It's been digitally paper pieced.

The frame cluster is from Silke Lemcke and the paper is from The Lil Princess Mini Kit.

These last few weeks have been some of the most difficult I've ever had to go through but I promise, one of these days I'll get back to my regular posting.  Until then, thank you so much for visiting and have a blessed day!

Footprints In The Sand

This week the theme at Digitally 'Sweet' Challenges is

H2O: Just add water

sponsored by

Isn't this the cutest image?  I colored  the image with Prismacolor pencils and then scanned it back into my computer.  I copied a little bit of the water and beach from the photo and used it as the background for my image.  Love how that turned out; looks like she has her toes in the sand.

I hope you'll share your watery creations with us this week!  Thanks for visiting and am wishing you a very blessed day!

Summertime Fun

It's time for a new challenge at Digitally 'Sweet' Challenges and the theme for this week is

Sunshine and Summertime

sponsored by

One of my favorite memories is attending summer Bible School.  It was hot, no air conditioning, windows open trying to catch a little bit of breeze.  But who cares when you're having lots of fun doing cool crafts, singing and playing with your friends!

Twenty years later my daughter was enjoying the same experiences.  Such happy memories!

I hope you can join us with your summertime projects.  I'm looking forward to seeing your creations.
Have a wonderful blessed day!

You're So Sweet!

It's time for a new challenge at Digitally 'Sweet' Challenges and this week we have a photo inspiration.

sponsored by

This week I did 2 cards, 1 digital and 1 paper.  It's really called 'hybrid' since I designed it on the computer and then printed out all the pieces and then put them together.  First, the digital version.  Lil Scoop, from Lacy Sunshine, is so adorable!  I colored her with PrismaColor pencils and then scanned the image back into my computer.  I didn't have any ice cream paper (and I really wanted some, LOL), so I copied her cone, colored them digitally, and then created my paper.  The sketch for my card is from i {heart} sketches.

And now for the paper version.  I always like punches/diecuts with holes suitable for stitching.  I used embroidery floss to stitch along the edge.  The faux brads are punched circles shaped with an embossing tool and then given a coating of stickles.  A very quick card to put together!

Now for some challenges I would like to enter

Celebrate Friendship

It's Friday, time for a new challenge at Digitally 'Sweet' Challenges.

Theme
Celebrations

Several years ago my husband and I took the Home and Garden Tour which supports our women's shelter.  During the tour I received the most awesome surprise!  At one of the homes we met two of my very best friends from my teen years.  Arlene, the parasol lady (she was a hostess), and I hadn't seen each other since we were 21!  What a celebration we had!

To help my dear parasol lady blend into the background, I used 2 layers.  The first was set to soft light, the second to overlay.
