Heartfelt Creations July Alumni Blog Hop

Hello friends! It's time for another Heartfelt Creations Alumni Blog Hop.

Do you look forward to Christmas in July as much as I do?  This little photo folio gave me the chance to think back two years ago to our newest granddaughter's first Christmas. Such happy memories. 


 I used the 'O Holy Night Collection' to create this folio. You'll find the instructions below.

2 cream envelopes, 5 3/4" x 4 3/8”, square flaps; card stock, cream, white, green, red; gold metallic; VersaMark Water Mark embossing ink pad; Recollections embossing powder, Snow, clear gold; burlap; seam binding; Stickles, gold, Diamond; mini bells; rhinestone; craft foam; lace; cheesecloth; gold thread; Golden Gesso; glitter, Crystal 

instructions:
Lay the 2 envelopes down with the flaps facing up. Cut a piece of cream card stock 3” x 5 3/4", score at 1 1/2”. If the flaps are larger than 2”, then trim to 2”. Adhere the cream card stock to the 2 flaps, lining up the edges of the card stock to the score line on the flaps. Fold into mountain fold. From a 6” square piece of design paper, cut it to 4” x 5 3/4", centering the ‘Merry Christmas’. Score at 2” and fold. Add to the center card stock panel. For the left and right side, cut red card stock 4 1/8” x 5 5/8”. Adhere a 3 3/4" x 7 1/8” card panel from the design paper to each. Using the 1.25” circle die, cut a half circle to create a thumb pull for the pocket.  Adhere to envelope being careful not to glue pocket shut. Print pictures 2 3/4" x 3 3/4". Cut gold metallic card to 2 7/8” x 3 7/8”, add to back of picture and then add to envelope. Die cut images from the design paper. Add stickles to angels. Cut 1 of the shepherds apart; adhere 2 to the left side and 1 to the right side of the center panel. Add the angels. Cut a piece of burlap 3” x 1”, add to bottom of right side and then add manager scene.
Front: From the 6” square plaid design paper, cut a piece 5 5/8” x 4 1/4". Add a magnet to the top center of the envelope. Adhere the plaid design paper. Cut a piece of white card stock 5 1/4” x 3 7/8”. Cut a piece of green
design paper 5 5/8” x 3 7/8”, add to white piece. Adhere this to card front. From white card stock, die cut the Intricate Swirl Frame and the Eyelet Oval.  Adhere the eyelet oval and then the swirl frame to the green layer, leaving the right side open to slide the picture in. Add diamond Stickles to the inside border of the frame. Add the lace border print from the design paper to the bottom of the green layer. Print the picture 2 1/8” x 2 5/8”. Die cut the 6.25 x .75 border die from gold metallic card stock. Use to create frame for the picture. Adhere to the back of the picture. Tuck the picture into the swirl frame. Stamp the trees on green card stock with VersaMark and emboss with Snow embossing powder. Die cut, cut the trees apart and add 2 on the left side behind the sleigh. Stamp sleigh with the Merry Little Christmas stamp set with VersaMark on red design paper and emboss with Clear Gold. Die cut, and also die cut from craft foam. Adhere the craft foam to the back of red sleigh. Adhere cheesecloth to the back of the sleigh. Die cut angel from design paper. Adhere to back of sleigh. Adhere sleigh in front of the trees. Paint mini bells with gesso and add glitter. Make bow with seam binding, tie bells to center with gold thread, add red rhinestone and then add to card. Cut out ‘joy’ ticket from design paper and adhere under bow.
Back folio: Cut a piece of red card stock 8 1/4" x 5 1/2", score at 4 1/8” and fold. Add a magnet to the center top of envelope and to the center right outside edge of the red card stock.   Adhere one half of the red card stock to the envelope. Die cut 4 pieces of the 6.25” x .75” border essentials die from gold metallic card stock.  Cut 2 card panels, using 1 with a circle design. Create a gold border around the rectangle picture and a border around the card panel on the right side. Adhere the card panels from the design paper to each side. Die cut 1 picture with the 3” circle die and add to the right side. Cut out the ‘cheer’ tag, add lace to the bottom, and adhere to the card. Add the trees left over from the front. On white card stock with Brilliance pearlescent poppy ink, stamp 3 flowers and die cut. On white card stock with Bamboo Leaves, stamp 3 pine branches and die cut. Make a cluster with 1 flower, 1 pine branch, some gold thread and some cheesecloth, adhere to the left side. For the back of the folio, adhere a card panel from the design paper. Die cut ‘Silent Night’ from gold metallic card stock and add to card panel. For the closure: cut a piece of white card stock 2” x 3”. Score at 7/8” and 1 1/8”. Using the 7” x .75” scallop Classic Border Basics die, die cut both 3” sides. Fold on score lines. Adhere magnet to center of one side to correspond with the magnet on the front. Adhere a flower over the magnet. Adhere 2 pine branches and a flower on the front. Adhere the back side to the back of the folio.
