Heartfelt Creations August Alumni Blog Hop

I am really enjoying making pocket letters.  This one is made with the new Farmers Market collection. 

On several of the cards I printed sentiments directly on the designer paper.

I love making these tiny 1" shaker charms.

For this card, I designed a 2.5 x 3.5 template in Photoshop Elements, positioned the young lady where I wanted her and then placed the words around her.  I then printed her out and paper pieced with the design paper.

I stamped and die cut the raspberries and bottle and added them to the card.

Today I'm sharing a file folder Christmas card.  I'm using this beautiful Christmas Card Paper Collection.  I die cut the image with the Luggage and Tags Die and used Stampendous Shabby White embossing enamel and a Wink of Stella pen.  I adhered a circle sentiment to a paper clip to hold the card closed.

Is everyone staying dry and warm?  In my little corner of the world it just won't stop raining and is chilly.  I tried wearing my comfy, warm slippers but Sadie (7 mo. old puppy) thinks they're something to play with and keeps pulling them off my feet, LOL.

As you can see, I let this beautiful DP carry my card.  The only stamping I did was the vertical sentiment, butterflies (sorry, they're discontinued) and the flower.  The trim on the side was created with Spellbinders Classic Decorative Inserts Three and Classic Edges 2.

Origami Dress Pocket Letter

Today I'm sharing another pocket letter. This one was made for Carolann  in WA. 

I had fun learning how to make origami dresses.  The 'hello' is a new die I found at a local Amish variety store. They love to make cards and I can always find something interesting.

I love this creative way to have penpals and the fact that pocket letters give me the chance to use up all the bits and pieces that I have stored in a box. I forgot to take a pic of the back but each pocket is filled with goodies. The hardest part is not adding so much that I can't get it into my envelope.

When I first saw the pocket letters I didn't think I would ever get involved.  Well, that's so yesterday, LOL.  Today I'm totally hooked.  So this is my very first one and it is on it's way to it's new owner. 

In the first pocket is a little booklet I made with the suitcase stamp and die.  The pages are sewn in with some ribbon.

Each pocket holds some goodies; a variety of clips, a tea bag, some tags,

and some creative folding for my 'about me' pocket.  Since these paper packs include sentiments and embellishments, they make it so easy to quickly create a pocket letter.

Of course the best part about pocket letters is making new friends and swapping with people from all over the world.  A modern version of pen pals with a creative twist.  Without having to write a letter.  I am horrible at writing letters!

Happy Birthday, Arabella

Today I'm sharing a card I made for a very special little lady.  Her parents invited us to her 8th birthday party but it was also to celebrate the finalization of her adoption.  The card is all sparkly!  With shiny paper, Stickles, and some Wink of Stella, it almost glows in the dark.

We were given 3x5 cards to personalize for her to add to her scrapbook.

The back of the card has one of my fave verses.

I created a pocket in the card to tuck it into.

And then, to finish it, I made an envelope.  I am so glad I invested in an envelope punch board, well worth it!

These freezing temps are getting the best of me and creating with flowers was a sure fire way to brighten the mood around here.  The flowers are embossed with white on vellum and colored with inks and Prismacolor pencils.  The center panel was cut from one of the card fronts from the paper collection.

Today I'm sharing a valentine made from a recycled snack box.  I painted the box with a gold metallic paint and then covered it with kraft cardstock and the design paper.  I used lots of dies.

I added some lace around the sides and then made some vellum flowers for the top.
