Oh sing to the Lord a new song; for He has done marvelous things! Even though fall brings a close to another growing season; the gorgeous colors remind us that there are awesome things ahead!
I was so excited to receive my Gelatos in the mail today. I had seen a technique where real leaves were used and wanted to try it. I really thought I remembered how it was done and didn't bother checking until I was finished. Turns out, the only thing I got right was using real leaves, LOL!
I wanted fall colors so I used green, yellow, orange and red. I used 90# watercolor paper. After blending the colors, they were very vibrant so I dried the paper and then went over them with white. I wet the leaves and then added the color directly to them. I placed the leaves on the paper, covered them with a paper towel, and then ironed over them. For this being my very first time using Gelatos, I was really happy with the final results. I have lots more ideas floating around so we'll see what happens next. Art is always an adventure!
Oh yes, I also purchased a new Scalloped Borders One die. Shopping is so much fun!
