This week, the challenge at Our Daily Bread Designs is to use plaid. I decided to use a sketch from Christian Paper Crafts. I'm sketch challenged so this was a good exercise.
The sweet image is 'Emma', from Fred, She Said. I added a flower background which is from Kim at Kimbee's Creations. The image is colored with Prismacolor pencils. I then added some stickles, some ribbon, a flower and a handmade stickpin. The sentiment was done in PSE.
Thanks for visiting and have a blessed day!

OSAAT/Christmas Club
This week is Christmas Club time at OSSAT.
The sentiment is a digi from DigiDoodleShop. The bottom half of the card was embossed with my Cuttlebug after I added all the embellishments.
Now it's finally time to go do some outside work. Yea for sunshine! I was beginning to think I might have to build myself an ark.
Thanks for visiting and have a blessed day.

Butterfly Kisses/Altered Jar
This week at Creative Inspirations Paint our inspiration is butterflies. I love butterflies and many of the plants in my garden were chosen to draw them to our yard.
One of my favorite songs is "Butterfly Kisses" and I used that as my inspiration for this project. I love making small decor items that I can tuck into little corners here and there. Recently, I have fallen in love with altered bottles. This one is an antique jar that has a metal wire to hold the lid on securely.
I used lots of lace, seam binding, an old necklace, a flower I made from some ivory and pink flower petals I had left over from a wedding project.
The butterflies are a Spellbinders die; love those butterflies! I very lightly distressed them with distress inks and then spritzed them with some glimmer mist I made with my Creative Inspirations Paint 'Fairy Dust', one of my favs. I use (approx.) 20% water, 80% alcohol, and a few drops of paint. I LOVE using these paints as glimmer mist; so super sparkly! You can see the sparkle on the flower. Awesome!
I printed the lyrics for the song, cut them out with some decorative scissors, inked them, and placed them in the jar, along with some lace, seam binding, and the word 'love' in several different languages.
And, I just couldn't resist; I had to add a picture with my granddaughter! This is one of my fav baby pictures. Can't believe she has now graduated from high school! Where did the time go?
Thanks so much for visiting and have a blessed day!

Here is a better pic of my handmade flower. Love how it turned out.

Hello Kitty
Wow! What a crazy week this has been! Here it is a week later and I am still displaying my Mother's Day card.
So let's replace that card with something current. I used a sketch from Pixie Cottage.
This is for a little one that loves 'Hello Kitty'. The kitten is a free image from sliekjestamps. Love her images! It's colored with Prismacolor pencils and the flowers are colored with Creative Inspirations Paint "Rose Quartz".
The ABC challenge was the letter 'U' for underneath. I decided to cut out the triangles and put a Hello Kitty sticker underneath. I then sewed on some buttons and finished them off with a bow.
I'm not sure why this pic looks so distorted. IRL it's perfectly straight.
Creative Inspirations challenge said to finish the inside so I added some tags with some more stickers, used a corner stamp and added a flower. Now I just need to get it in the mail.
Thanks for visiting and have a blessed day!

Inspired by...Mother
This week at Creative Inspirations Paint we are being inspired by the special ladies in our lives, whether that by our mother or somone else who has an extra special place in our hearts.
I had the privelege of making a card for a young lady to give to her mother. We wanted lots of flowers and this cute stamp had flowers.
I made some faux flower soft by rubbing two pieces of styrofoam together until I had lots of shavings. I colored it with my Creative Inspirations Paints using Sunshine, Amethyst, Blush and Green Olive. I also used those colors for the butterflies. I first colored the image with Prismacolor Pencils and then adhered the faux flower soft.
Thanks for visiting and have a blessed day!
